The El Paso EP Elite Intern Program provides meaningful work in engineering and business.  Interns gain hands on technical experience from industry experts culminating in a presentation to senior management.

 

Accounting Intern  

Internship disciplines include:  

  • Corporate, Pipeline, E&P Accounting
  • Responsibilities could include:
  • Preparation of SEC quarterly filings
  • Completion of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analysis of financial statements and revenue deposits
  • Preparation of periodic earnings and capital forecasts
  • Project cost analysis

 

Audit, Financial Controls

Responsibilities could include:

  • Review and revise process documentation, risk assessments and test plans
  • Attend meetings with external auditors
  • Perform key control testing
  • Assist in documenting and evaluating internal control frameworks
  • Create audit reports

 

Tax

Responsibilities could include:

  • Assist with preparation of quarterly tax accruals
  • Assist with preparation of company corporate federal/state tax returns
  • Prepare work paper documentation and analysis to accrual adjustments
  • Prepare and document tax basis balance sheets
  • Assist with special projects

 

Requirements include:

  • Major in accounting or finance
  • Completion of sophomore year
  • Completion of six hours in accounting
  • Self motivated individual with a strong desire to learn
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office products

 


Supply Development Intern

 

Overview:

 

This position presents a unique opportunity to learn many aspects of the interstate pipeline business.  The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of commercial activities that are performed by Tennessee’s Supply Development Department. These activities incorporate planning, strategy development, project development, customer negotiations, management approvals, project tracking, and implementation.    The successful candidate will be assigned a mentor to aid in their learning process.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide support to Supply Development staff in the development of new gas supply interconnections 
  • Assist in the development and communication of facility maintenance/modification plans with customers 
  • Participate in the creation of Supply Development’s expansion project strategies; 
  • Gain a working understanding of existing joint venture (JV) ownership, operation, and maintenance arrangements
  • Assist in tracking Supply Development’s potential gas supply attachments and interconnect requests 
  • Assist in implementing Supply Development’s facility abandonment-by-sale initiative.

 

 

 Qualifications: 

 

Bachelor’s Degree in: Business, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Marketing

Ability to organize, schedule, and complete activities on multiple projects concurrently

Encompass strong decision-making skills

Excellent Communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills

Ability to function effectively in a team environment

*Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required  

*Minimal overnight travel will be required. 

 


Volume Analyst Intern

 

Responsibilities:

 

This individual will assist in tracking, reporting, analyzing and resolving customer service issues related to nominations, confirmation and allocations and other daily commercial activities such as tariff interpretations, customer training.  They must be able to assist in planning, implementing and coordinating marketing activities for natural gas pipeline transportation and storage customers.  Incumbent needs to be able to plan their own work in order to properly perform job and meet scheduled deadlines.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelors degree in business discipline including accounting, finance, general business, marketing.

Strong analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Exceptional customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional team-work skills

Ability to multi-task and manage priorities

Executive Team Leader

As an Executive Team Leader, you will be responsible for one of the following work centers in the store: Logistics, Guest Service, Human Resources, Sales Floor, Food or Assets Protection. You will have three major areas of responsibility: team member management, store leadership and community service. In addition, you will be involved in recruiting and hiring, orientation and training, counseling and coaching, and on-the-job support of your team. Executive Team Leaders are responsible for driving sales by overseeing the guest service and merchandising of two to three departments with sales ranging from $2 - $9 million. You will be responsible for floor leadership during the hours of operation, as well as opening and closing the store on assigned days. You will ensure great service by interacting with guests and team members. And you will strive to achieve sales goals and maintain budget controls.

 

Skills we’re looking for:

  • 4 year college degree, all majors are encouraged to apply
  • History of academic achievement
  • Proven conflict management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with great interpersonal skills

Store Executive Intern

The objective of the Executive Internship is to give you an overview of Target Stores’ operations and company programs while strengthening your leadership skills, enabling you to be an effective executive and strategic business partner for the Stores pyramid.  As a Store Executive Intern, you will receive support from all areas within the store as you develop your leadership skills in our three part program:  Target Fundamentals, Basic Leadership and Hands-on Special Project.

 

DURING THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM YOU WILL:

  • Review our brand strategy and discover what it takes to lead a team
  • Understand merchandising, guest service and inventory management and how to maximize sales
  • Discover how the Human Resources position impacts staffing, development, retention and brand management
  • Learn about the product supply chain and work through inventory management and productivity issues
  • Train on how to discourage theft and fraud while maintaining store safety
  • Develop your leadership skills
  • Complete a hands-on project requiring you to implement the knowledge you acquire during your internship
